Prison Rape Elimination Act

The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) is a federal law to guide pretrial or correctional institutions in detecting, preventing, reducing and punishing sexual abuse and misconduct in confinement settings. Ramsey County fully supports PREA and makes prevention of sexual assault, misconduct, abuse and harassment a top priority.

Ramsey County has zero tolerance for incidents of sexual abuse, misconduct and harassment. All threats, allegations, incidents, suspicions, and complaints of sexual misconduct will be investigated. If you know of an incident of sexual abuse, misconduct or harassment that occurred at the Adult Detention Center (jail) or a correctional facility, please report it to the designated contact listed by facility below or by filling out the online incident report.
