Spring volunteer programs at Tamarack are a great way to get involved at the nature center. All volunteer programs are suited to adults, groups and children 8 or older with a parent.

Registration is required for all volunteer programs.

Earth Day Cleanup

Date: Saturday, April 27
Time: 9 a.m. - noon
Ages: Adults and youth ages 8+ 
Fee:  Free, registration required

Help us celebrate Earth Day and give back to our planet by volunteering for a morning at Tamarack. We’ll be cleaning up the grounds and trails, removing some invasive plants and working in the Garden to get it ready for planting. This volunteer activity is open to individuals, families and small groups. Parental consent required for all youth. Students under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited, so sign up early! 

Dragonfly Monitor Training

Date: Sunday, June 2
Time: 1 - 4 p.m.
Ages: Adults and youth ages 8+ 
Fee:  Free, registration required

Did you know there are over 140 different species of dragonflies and damselflies in Minnesota?  Learn to sweep net and identify. This program serves as a public program for anyone wanting to learn more about our local dragons and damsels, and a volunteer training for those who want to learn how to monitor these species at Tamarack. Become a citizen scientist today!
